Wake me up when Winter ends!! Don’t kill me for the lyrics but Winter has started showing the first signs of its arrival and this might not be a very good news in lieu of your beautiful skin and silky hair!
Even if that sounded like a first-hand shampoo commercial, the undeniable fact remains here that Winter means drying up of hair moisture, making it brittle and prone to breaking and damage. Of course, not to forget the presence of frizz and static that often comes with winter wardrobe and hair. Summer might be gone, taking its troubles with it, but winter means a whole new set of problems that you need to deal with.
However, every problem has its specific solution, so the following section reveals 6 easy but effective, and must follow hair care routine for Winter:
1. Oiling of the hair is must:
Olive oil is by far the best choice for winter as it has both moisturizing and humectant (draws moisture from the air) properties.
In addition, other oils such as coconut oil, avocado oil, and sesame oil are also helpful. Just apply about 1 to 2 tbs (depending on the length) on the head and then a gentle massage for about 5 minutes using the finger pads. Let the oil sit for an hour, and then wash as usual. Practically, it is recommended to oil the hair before every wash (especially in winters). If this is not possible, one should try it at least once a week for smooth and shiny hair even in winters.
